PORT TOWNSEND — Friday night in “New Year's ReVolutions,” there will be revelations.

So promises Joey Pipia, director of The Chairs Improv Troupe and its latest show.

“Learn why some New Year's resolutions succeed and why some do not,” Pipia said.

“What is the secret? It will be revealed” in The Chairs' performance at
7 p.m. Friday at the Chameleon Theater, 800 W. Park Ave. in the Port Townsend Business Park.

The business here is improvisational comedy inspired by the audience's suggestions: whatever they resolved to do a month ago, when 2013 was brand-new.

“They'll throw out resolutions, and we'll take it from there,” said Misha Casella-Blackburn, one of the three 16-year-olds in “ReVolutions.”

A home-schooled 11th-grader, she's been with The Chairs for about three years now and hopes to study musical theater in college.

The other two teens are Solomon Dusseljee and Katherine Atkins.

“We're a three-legged chair,” Misha quipped.

The Chairs troupe is invitation-only and dedicated to performance improvisation, with Pipia teaching a style of acting he describes as “the best of several masters” to create a satisfying experience for his actors and the audience.

“It is so much fun,” Misha said, “to hear the audience laugh.”

Admission to the one-time-only performance of “New Year's ReVolutions” is by donation.

No reservations are necessary, Pipia said.

More information can be had by phoning the Chameleon Theater at 360-379-1068.
