PORT ANGELES — Two Port Angeles High School music groups will present music fundraisers this week: the Scholarship Italian Dinner and Auction on Thursday, and the Elegant Evening of Waltz on Saturday.

The Port Angeles High School Band Boosters will host the Scholarship Italian Dinner and Auction in the school cafeteria, 304 E. Park Ave.

A silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m., and a live auction will start at 7 p.m.

Tickets, available at the door only, are $10 per adult and $5 for children younger than 10.

The event will feature a variety of donations from local businesses and handmade items.

Proceeds from the auctions will provide scholarships for Port Angeles High band students who intend to major in music at the college level.

The Port Angeles High School Chamber Orchestra will present an Elegant Evening of Waltz at the Masonic Temple, 622 S. Lincoln St., at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $20 per person in advance or $25 at the door, and include dance instruction, refreshments and dancing.

Proceeds will support the orchestra’s March 31 performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The Port Angeles High School orchestra has performed on the Carnegie Hall stage every four years since 1989.

The evening will begin with an hour of professional dance instruction, followed by two hours of ballroom-style dancing to live orchestra music.

Light refreshments will be served throughout the evening.

A selection of silent-auction baskets will be available for bidding.

Elegant attire is encouraged.
