PORT ANGELES –– Investigation continues today on the cause of a fire that ripped through an unoccupied truck camper, endangering a large garage in the 300 block of John Jacobs Road, shortly before midnight Monday.

Clallam County Fire District No. 3 spokesman Patrick Young said crews from the Sequim and Port Angeles fire districts put the fire out in about 10 minutes.

He did not know who owns the camper.

The blaze, suspected to have started from the camper's appliances, ripped a hole through the center of the camper near its refrigerator, destroying it, Young said.

The fire did not affect propane tanks on the camper.

Young was unsure if the camper was insured or what the value of the loss would be.
